Product Description

Celebrate traditional storytelling art and regal grace with this handwoven Banarasi pure Katan silk saree. Woven in a deep royal purple shade, the main body exhibits the luxurious sheen, smooth texture, and fluid drape characteristic of pure Katan silk. The border and lower hem feature a tapestry depiction of the iconic Varanasi ghats—complete with temples, spires, umbrella motifs, and river waves woven in silver and antique gold zari. Paired with a soft metallic woven pallu block.

Care Instructions

  • Strictly Dry Clean Only: Professional dry cleaning is required to preserve the fine pure Katan silk fibers and intricate zari weave work.

  • Storage: Store flat in a cool, dark place wrapped in a clean, breathable cotton or muslin fabric. Avoid plastic covers or airtight boxes.

  • Refolding: Periodically unfold and air out the saree in a shaded room every few months, refolding along different lines to avoid permanent creases across the metallic zari.

  • Ironing: Iron on a low-heat silk setting on the reverse side with a protective cotton cloth over the saree. Never place a direct hot iron on metallic zari threads.

  • Handling: Apply liquid perfumes, hairsprays, or body mists directly to the skin and let dry completely before wearing to prevent discoloration on pure silk and zari.
